FAQs

Is cross stitching difficult to learn?

Cross stitch is fun and easy to learn. If you have a friend who can show you the basics that’s a great way to start. Otherwise there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and other websites.

What sort of needle should I use?

Cross stitching is done with a tapestry needle. Tapestry needles have blunt points and much larger eyes than sewing needles. The blunt points prevent the needles from piercing fabric threads or your fingers. Needles are included in all our kits.

What if I make a mistake?

Don’t worry. Just unpick the section and re-stitch it. Our kits come with 20% more stranded cotton than you need so you won’t run out.

What sort of material should I use?

Our kits come with either linen or Aida material. They both work, so you just have to decide on what you like. Aida 14 is the most common and 14 count is an easy fabric to start on.

Do I have to follow the pattern?

If you want the finished piece to look like the picture… yes. However, cross stitch is a creative pursuit so you can feel free to mix colours however you like.

How long will it take for my kit(s) to arrive?

That depends on the delivery method you choose. Express postage will arrive sooner than standard post. We will package and post your order on the day we receive it.

What if I prick my finger?

Put a band-aid on it ;)
